I never knew how deep her love was until I heard her the deepest cry. At that moment I did not know if it was me crying or her because the pain in her cry was equal to the pain I felt inside.

It is very true that it is not until I became a mother myself that I fully understood the magnitude of a mother’s love. The truth behind her words of loving her child so deeply that my pain was hers. It took one Thursday night when I made the call the call, after we came home from the hospital … we miscarried. She cried for both of us and to this day I could not thank her enough for it.

Now, with my two kisses from heaven, I often wonder what is the greatest blessing in life? The little souls we are blessed with or the blessing of an amazing mother.

I have two best friends, true-life longs best friends. Two women that I have grown up with, loving them, following them, enjoying every season of mine and their lives with. My mother and my sister. I would have chosen them even if they had not been chosen for me.

During this scary season we are all in, what do you miss the most? If you ask me what is the one thing, I miss the most. I miss my mother’s and sister’s hugs. Our lunch dates. Our time spending time working on our million projects. Our walks, Hobby Lobby adventures, our Set Designing, our fun family visits but mostly just my mother’s and sister’s sweet spirit. I miss them.

On this Mother’s Day things will looks a lot different for most of us. And as I reflect on what I plan to do from a distance for all the beautiful mother’s in my life I have decided to find my favorite photograph of them and send it to them with a little message of Mother’s day love. 

Hang in their friends this too shall pass.
