Has it only been four months since Christmas time?
With the busyness of the holiday season, festivities, and squeezing as many families as I could the posting of my many beautiful Portrait Sessions did not so much happen.
Every year we, as a family reserve a local family farm to have our own family portraits taken. This past year I had the opportunity to invite a handful of families to come out and have their own Family Portraits taken at the same location. And I could not have been more in love with how wonderful of time this was!
Samantha and her beautiful little family were some of my most favorite Family Portraits during the Holiday Season. With little miss Kinslee stylish hat, Mr. Gaige sweetness, and mamma Samantha and dad Garreth sweet demeanor I could not have asked for a better Family Portrait Session.
I would give little Kinslee a quick note here and there and brother Gaige would just smile with such little ease. As we moved from each location to the next, I noticed how tender Gaige was with his little sister. I looked down for a quick second to adjust a setting and looked up to find him fixing his little sisters’ hat! Awe, I could not help but gush. And just like that Kinslee looks over at her brother and gives him the biggest hug.
Snap … Snap… right on time to catch this moment.
I have been very fortunate to be blessed with families who book and understand the importance of preserving these special memories. I often find myself thinking about one thing my mother has always said to us “if my house is burning, we better get the pictures.”
In the business world we sometimes hear many professionals ask business owners their why? Why are you in business? Why do you do what you do? The WHY drives your every step and it is a moral compass for your business identity. My why has evolved and continues to evolve. But one of the things that always stay with me is the importance of preserving memories.
I know Samantha will look back at these portraits with love but especially the portrait of her two littles sharing a sweet organic tender moment. We didn’t ask them to hug each other, we didn’t ask Mr. Gaige to fix his little sisters’ hat, but they did, and he did.
I know Samantha will look back and be grateful. Maybe I even more now as we all navigate our current reality. She may even look back and be the most grateful. Grateful that they took the time to book a session and capture their little joyful family before the world flipped upside down.
Sam, thank you so much, mamma, for letting me into your beautiful little world. Thank you for letting me capture the tenderness of your family. Thank you for letting me enjoy time with you and Garreth and capturing one of my MOST FAVORITE look of LOVE!
And an even bigger thank you for letting me spend time with all of you. Your entire sessions was what we photographers call dreamy, from your demeanor, kindness, EASYNESS, fun, and JOYFUL being, from booking to delivery of portraits. Thank you for being a joy of a client to work with!
I appreciate you so much. Be safe. Be well. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon.
Sending love and virtual hugs,
Kimberly (KC)

As we get ready to open my Studio back up, I will have a few but not limited to the following implementations. That I need for you to be made aware of before you book with me.
- I will be expanding on my rescheduling policy. It will continue to be a very strict policy nonetheless it will be within guidelines to accommodate the new normal that will be life after COVID19.
- Until vaccination becomes available to the masses one plus person will only be allowed in the studio. That means if you book a session for 1 individual only that 1 individual will be allowed in studio if it is a minor only 1 legal guardian will be allowed in studio. I will not be making exceptions. No additional children, parents, grandparents, etc. This will minimize everyone’s exposure to any asymptomatic individuals.
- If you book two sessions and schedule them back to back especially with little ones. I will ask that you bring one additional person and have that person and child wait outside the studio until the first child is done and it is time for the second child. This will continue with my new 1:1 ratio and the ability of a parent to child control. Having a 1:1 control ratio it will allow for a parent to have full focus and control of one child minimizing wondering and touching anything outside Set Design. If this is a more than 1 individual Portrait Session, I will ask for full cooperation from parents at all times. If parents are not in full control of the child (children) during our time together Portrait Session will be canceled on the spot, no exceptions to refunds will be done. The less touching, the less time disinfecting and anything that I can not wipe, spray, the wash will be trashed and so this will be very important.
- I love my little clients, many I have become great friends with, they see me and give me great big hugs that I LOVE AND LIVE FOR!!! Moving forward until we have vaccination available for the masses, I will, unfortunately, move forward with keeping at all times social distancing and I know it may be awkward and uncomfortable but we all have to work together for the greater of all of us.
- I will be wearing masks throughout our Portrait Session. Because of the nature of COVID-19, I want to protect you and your children on the off chance that I could be carrying the virus, but asymptomatic during your Portrait Session. I will be following all the recommendations of the CDC for safety including wearing gloves.
- I will continue to prioritize sanitizing, you will find the new sanitizing station at the entrance of the studio that I will ask EVERYONE to partake in … for my little clients whose parents do not agree with alcohol bases sanitation, I will have non-alcohol based sanitizing wipes so their will be no exceptions to sanitizing your hands as soon as you walk in.
- During our Portrait Session, I will be taking a step back from my usual close shots, so that I can keep a safe distance. I will be utilizing longer focal lengths to compensate. And still, be able to get the close beautiful shots you love.
- Please know that I am structuring sessions, so there is no client overlap, and I am rigorously cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the studio, including props.
- Outdoor Sessions: All of our outdoor sessions will be held in areas that are not heavily populated to minimize contact. If there is a specific place you would like to shoot but it is a high traffic area I will not be shooting at that location.
- If I become ill and I am being forced to quarantine myself, I will contact clients immediately. We will work on an arrangement that best works for both. I will make sure to make it up to you. You know me … I will usually include a little extra gift for you!
In the meantime, I wish you and your families all the very best in health, warm cuddles & extra long naps.
